Nurse Shares Cancer Story to Encourage Others to Get Screened

A 32-year-old nurse from Clifton, New Jersey, who was diagnosed with colon cancer shared a video on Facebook on August 29 to urge young people to get screened for the disease.Jennifer Waller said in the video that had she not “been aware” of her body she would have died, considering people are not screened for colorectal cancer until they are 50 year old. Waller initially thought she may have had breast cancer, but tests came back negative. She had also put down her exhaustion to being a single mother to two children.“I’m going to choose to be positive, no matter what,” said Waller in her video, adding “bring it” as a personal challenge to her cancer diagnosis.
