Dowry Verdict: SC upholds women's rights; anticipatory bail for accused - The X Factor

The top court today modified its previous order that provided for setting up of a committee to deal with complaints of dowry harassment. On April 23rd, the court had reserved its verdict on a batch of pleas seeking to revisit its judgment that had reduced the severity of the anti-dowry law. Top court scrapped its earlier direction to set up local level committees to look into dowry harassment complaints before arrests are made. It also added that this move will fill in legislative gaps.
