Hull on lockdown after man carrying a meat cleaver tries to petrol bomb banks

A man carrying a meat cleaver has been arrested in Hull city centre after he tried to set two banks on fire.

Footage captured today (September 11) shows the town centre locked off after police intercepted the man in the Barclays on the corner of King Edward Street and Paragon Street.

The suspect was apprehended as armed police swooped on the city centre at about 1 pm.
