London police arrest man carrying large knife at Hackney carnival

This was the moment Metropolitan Police seized a large knife from a man in London yesterday (10 September).

Officers are seen in Darnley Road, Hackney, subduing a man at a bus stop to retrieve a large knife from him which is then displayed by an officer to the public.

The arrest occurred at Hackney Carnival in North London, the carnival took to the streets of the Borough all day where revellers embark on a parade with over 1000 performers.

The filmer said: "I managed to see 3 officers trying to arrest this tall black boy about 6’1 19 years old for carrying a knife about 8-12inches long."

He later added: "The police began to use excessive force to arrest the suspect, one of the policemen started punching the suspect in the stomach so he could stop resisting."
