According to Reuters, former U.S. Republican Senator Jon Kyl has been chosen to fill the U.S. Senate seat from Arizona vacated by John McCain's passing. Before retiring in 2013, Kyl served with McCain in the Senate and rose to the position of GOP whip. Arizona Republican Governor Doug Ducey is scheduled to unveil the 76-year-old Kyl as McCain’s successor at a news conference Tuesday at the Arizona Capitol. Sources say he's already notified McCain’s wife, Cindy, and other key political figures of his decision.
