We've spoken to Katy Whittaker a lot on the show recently as we seem to run into her wherever we go! Having run out of sensible questions for her, this time we resorted to the less commonly asked interview questions which mostly revolved around chips, trad climbing and cat anatomy. While we were at the Arc'teryx stand, we also took the opportunity to check out their new alpine boot, the Acrux AR. An extremely well thought out piece of kit, a lot of work has gone into the boot's materials with a stretchy, hydrophobic liner to ensure a comfortable fit and fast drying. The gaiter is entirely waterproof, but has also been built to ensure that you won't lack for breathability. Finally Arc'teryx have paid a lot of attention to the base of the shoe which has been made ultra-durable to resist damage from rock or collapse from crampon pressure.
