On today’s show we’re having dinner with some of the World’s best climbers but first we’ve got a fun little video from the UK. It has come in from Sheffield-based climber Michael Watson and it features both him and British Bouldering team member/Scarpa athlete Michaela Tracy both climbing their first 8A/V11 boulder. The boulder in question is 'The Dark Room' at the ever so slightly unappealing crag of Odin Cave in the English peak district.
If you recognise Michaela's name, it's probably because she made the final of the Bouldering World Championship last year and although this is only her first 8A, we're sure this won't be the last that we hear from her.
Next, we’re checking in with our tame rock climbers and this time, we’re putting their culinary skills to the test.
To finish the show, we’ve got more details about the very exciting Arc’Teryx Academy. It will be running right here in Chamonix between the 12th and 14th June and we’ll be there, as will some of the World’s best climbers, who could be teaching you all the skills you need for rock, ice and alpine climbing.
Registration for the event opens on March 17th and you can sign up by going to www.arcteryxacademy.com. You can also enter a competition to win 2 places on the Academy, plus a load of shiny kit, by going to the academy website, clicking on the “contest” tab and filling in your details. The lucky winner will claim 2 spots at the Academy, plus travel and accommodation, an Arcteryx Psiphon SL Jacket, some Petzl ice axes and much, much more.
