You might think this is just another SUV to arrive that's powered by electricity, but the Kona Electric really moves the game on. Why? Well it offers a realistic 300-mile pure electric range for under £30,000.

That is truly remarkable when established sub-£30k EVs like the Nissan Leaf and VW e-Golf are delivering barely half of the Kona’s range, for only a few pounds less. This is one of the reasons why the Kona Electric scooped our Affordable Electric Car of the Year gong in our 2018 New Car of the Year Awards.

So it has the price and range on its side, but what's it like to drive? Deputy Editor John McIlroy has the answer.
