Michael J. Fox And Wife Tracy Share Secret To Long Marriage

Life is unpredictable. At one moment you can have it all, and then on the other you can face difficult challenges that change everything.
Michael J. Fox was the smart-aleck teen on Family Ties, then the furry heartthrob on Teen Wolf. All throughout his acting career, his talent shone through until it became temporarily overshadowed by one thing.
When Michael J. Fox was just 29, a young man with a fresh marriage to Tracy Pollan and a new baby, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Now a father of four, he and Tracy are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary while managing his progressive disease as best they can.

The Canadian-American actor no longer stars in movies like he did when he was younger, but instead provides the voice for movie roles. He has enjoyed a few cameo appearances though, and participates in important documentaries.
Through it all, Tracy has been by his side, his rock and his lifelong love. The two actually met while both were youngsters filming Family Ties and have grown up in the business.
Tracy actually played the role of his on-screen girlfriend Ellen. Soon thereafter, they wed in 1988 at a picturesque Vermont Inn.
Just 10 months after they married, their oldest of four children was born. Then two years later he was officially diagnosed with Parkinson’s despite experiencing some symptoms leading up to that point.
Their backgrounds are quite different, but the positive outlook on life that they share is the thread that ties them together. Michael, 57, grew up as a military child and dropped out of high school, finally earning his GED when he was in his 30s.
Tracy was raised in a prominent Jewish New York family and attended school at the Lee Strasberg Institute. But both grew up middle children with a great sense of humor, they told People in a special interview about their 30th wedding anniversary.
Tracy confessed that they have supported each other from the start, which established the basis for their love and strong marriage. Thirty years later, they only have eyes for each other.
“It was us against the world. That’s exactly what we have created … Just give each other the benefit of the doubt. He assumes I’m doing the best I can.”
Michael, who knows all too well how life can be cut short too soon or be impeded by health issues, emphasized that they recognize the wonderful things in life all the time. They definitely do not take things for granted.
“Find the best things about you and the best things about life and celebrate them.”
As they celebrate 30 years of blissful marriage, Tracy continues to stand by her man as he serves as the face of Parkinson’s disease and together they fight for a cure. Life may have thrown difficult curveballs their way, but that has not stopped them from loving each other and remaining a strong and united team with a beautiful family. Happy anniversary to the couple that has withstood all the ups and downs of not only Holl
