Asian Games 2018: Our main focus is Tokyo Olympics, says Seema Punia after winning Bronze
  • 6 years ago
Defending champion Seema Punia settled for a bronze in the women’s discus throw event in the Asian Games 2018. The 35-year-old Seema cleared a best distance of 62.26m, her best in six years, but that was just enough for a bronze medal. Speaking to media Punia said, "If my first throw wouldn't have gone bad then I would have achieved a range of 64. My coach told me to get the first throw good. I think I got under pressure and it went bad. As per my hard work, I was confident enough that, I will give at least one good throw. The throws which were 61 plus, could have been better. Of course, the pressure is immense but I am too old to take all that pressure. I am quite experienced and had faced such situations many times. Our actual focus is on Tokyo Olympics."
