India captain Virat Kohli hinted on Wednesday (29th August) that he may use an unchanged side for the first time in 39 Tests as they aim to be "relentless and ruthless" in their must-win fourth Test against England, which starts on Thursday (29th August) in Southampton. India have chopped and changed their starting line-up 38 times in the last 38 Tests but a do-or-die win in the last Test in Nottingham has kept this series alive and provided the India captain with reason to stick with a winning team, telling reporters, "right now we don't feel we need to change anything."
Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin looks to have fully recovered from a hip injury which affected him in the last Test. India's 203-run win in Nottingham was only their second Test success in 13 matches in England but if they are to come away from this tour with an unlikely victory they will need to succeed in Southampton to force a winner-takes-all Test next month at the Oval. If they did achieve back-to-back wins they would become only the second team ever to win a Test series after falling 2-0 behind.
