British fisherman: "we could have sunk"
The damage done to British fishing vessels was assessed this morning after an estimated 35 French boats appeared to surround five British boats in the English Channel last night. The angry stand-off took place off the coast of Normandy. The French said they were protecting scallop fishing beds, but the row resulted in rocks, smoke bombs and other projectiles reportedly being thrown at the British crews. Report by Benaribiam.
