Militaries from Russia, China and Mongolia take part in war games

MOSCOW — Russia, China and Mongolia will this year take part in a large, joint military operation dubbed "Vostok-2018".

According to the Moscow Times, Russia is sending 300,000 military personnel as well as 1,000 aircraft and two naval fleets to the exercise. China is sending 3,200 troops, along with aircraft, and 900 pieces of military hardware, reports Xinhua. Mongolia's contribution to the event is unknown, the BBC reports.

Xinhua reports that the Chinese and Russian cooperation in the event is being hailed as proof of expanded ties between the two countries.
