Pope Francis Begs For Forgiveness From Church Abuse Victims
  • 6 years ago
On Sunday, Pope Francis begged forgiveness for the multitude of abuses suffered by victims in Ireland at the hand of the Catholic Church over decades. According to Reuters, after meeting privately with abuse victims yesterday, Francis apologized to mothers estranged from their children in church-run homes, children abused by priests and those exploited in religious schools. Years of sexual abuse scandals have shattered the credibility of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
