Japan's First Woman Fighter Pilot, Was Inspired By 'Top Gun'

According to Business Insider, Japan's first woman fighter pilot says she was inspired by the movie 'Top Gun'. 26 year old Misa Matsushima has been named as Japan's first female fighter pilot. When Matsushima first joined the Japan Air Self Defense Force, she was one of 13,707 women service members which only make up 6.1% of all Japanese troops.Her achievement has happened during a current move toward gender equality in Japan's armed forces, which are trying to grow their ranks.
