Hawaii Refinery Shuts Down Ahead Of Hurricane

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, Par Pacific Holdings shut down its 93,500 barrel-per-day refinery at Kapolei, Hawaii, on Friday as Hurricane Lane began pounding the islands. Par Hawaii spokesman Lance Tanaka said, "We have only minimal staff at the refinery. We hope to restart as quickly as possible.” Island Energy Services, a nearby refinery in Kapolei, said that it was closing seven retail filling stations on the island of Oahu, where the refinery is located.
