According to Reuters, a US representative pleaded not guilty to federal charges of misusing campaign funds.
Republican rep. Duncan Hunter and his wife Margaret have been accused of using $250,000 in campaign funds for personal use.
Assistant US Attorney Phillip Halpern stated that both defendants used a large amount of money stolen from Hunter's campaign.
Hunter, who was an early supporter of President Donald Trump, is the second House Republican to face criminal charges this month.
