Dashcam footage captures the moment a family's car was hit by another vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road to dodge a traffic jam.

Joseph Incomio, 25, was in the car with his mother, brother, and sister when they saw an oncoming 'jeepney' in Cavite, Philippines, on August 17 at 2.45pm.

The driver, Joseph's sister, tried to pull over to the middle lane to avoid the approaching truck but it was too late - and it shunted into them.

Footage shows how the jeepney was driving into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road.

Joseph, a civil engineer, said: ''The driver counter-flowed despite the concrete barriers.

''All of us were safe after the crash The driver claimed that his brakes were not working but I don't believe it.

''In my conclusion, he was trying to get away from the other cars.''

The operator of the jeepney transport firm admitted liability and paid for the damage to Jospeh's family's vehicle.
