A tiger that had accidently entered the premises of Central Institute of Agriculture Engineering on the outskirts of Bhopal was rescued by the forest department officials. The big cat was first spotted around 5.45 am. Reportedly, when the locals raised alarm the tiger jumped on the roof of a quarter in the premises. The tiger was tranquilized by the senior forest officials to ensure safety of the animal and people who had gathered in thousands outside the institute.

A curious crowd gathered at the spot and had to be dispersed by the police for safety. Later, the about four-year-old wild cat was tranquilised by the rescue squad of the forest department and safely taken to Van Vihar National Park.
As many as nine tigers are said to be living in the vicinity of Bhopal, with some even crossing into the municipal limits, especially on the Kerwa and Kaliasot side.
