A pregnant woman was airlifted in a daring operation by the Indian Navy officials in the flood-hit state of Kerala.

The Navy officials met Sajita Jabeel, the pregnant lady who was airlifted in Aluva. Jabeel was admitted in INHS Sanjivani, the naval hospital in Kochi after the rescue operation.

She later gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The navy was summoned after Sajita went into labour and was airlifted with a waterfilled bag to minimise the impact of the rescue operation. Jabeel was admitted in INHS Sanjivani, the naval hospital in Kochi. Commander Vijay Verma said, “It was a challenging rescue. The end-result, a baby being born, it's a joy like nothing else. A sense of personal satisfaction.”
