Kerala Floods: AIMIM chief Owaisi contributes Rs 16 lakh; have you done your bit yet?
The monsoon brings heavy rainfall to Kerala every year. But this year, the rain and the subsequent flooding has been the worst in nearly a century. The last time such a deluge ravaged the state was in 1924. There were rains for three weeks and several cities were submerged at the time. What is also sad is that this is partly a disaster by our own making. In just the last five years, we have been through Uttarakhand - 2013. Srinagar - 2014. Gujarat - 2015. Chennai - 2015. Assam - 2016. But what have we learnt? Virtually nothing.
