According to a report by Business Insider, billionaire Dan Gilbert shared memories of growing up in the suburbs of Detroit while delivering a keynote speech at the Urban Land Institute's annual meeting at Detroit's Cobo Center in May. Gilbert's real-estate firm, Bedrock, has reportedly invested and allocated a total of $5.6 billion into Detroit.
