Dennis Rodman loves North Korea—and takes credit for initiating peace between Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump!

In a bizarre interview with CNN, the NBA legend claimed that on his first visit to the country he felt at home, and quickly became fond of its controversial leader.

“Once I went to North Korea I didn't really understand what the whole situation was as far as being over there,” said Rodman. “When I met Kim Jong-un, I didn't know what to expect...but once I got to know the culture over there I felt at home.”

President Barack Obama “did not give [him] the time of day.”

Throughout the wild interview, Rodman, 57, wore a red “Make America Great Again” hat and cried tears of joy behind his jet-black sunglasses.

The retired basketball star became even more emotional speaking of the backlash he received after publicly supporting Kim Jong-un, 34.

“I had to hide out, I couldn't even go home,” he recalled. “I took all those bullets. Everyone came at me and I'm still standing.”

“This guy wants to be around the world,” Rodman said of the North Korean leader. “He wants to come to America and enjoy his life. He wants his people to enjoy his life.”

As RadarOnline.com readers know, the dictator—who’s ruled the nation since 2011—has been bashed by many for his extreme governing tactics and harsh punishments. This Monday, he met with Trump, 71, to discuss nuclear power, and finally agreed to a “complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”

Despite Trump confirming that Rodman was not invited to attend the summit this Monday in Singapore, the NBA star took the trip anyway, telling reporters that he would “give whatever support is needed” to his “friends” Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.
