Indonesia prepares Independence Day celebration following deadly earthquake

Indonesia sets up for Independence Day celebrations two weeks after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck the islands of Lombok and Bali, killing hundreds.

The clip, captured today (August 16) shows soldiers in Lombok rehearsing for the Independence Day parade tomorrow (August 17), a yearly ceremony that takes place since the Proclamation of Independence of Indonesia in 1945.

The death toll from the earthquake that rocked the Indonesian island of Lombok has passed 400 and the government is estimating economic losses of at least several hundred million dollars.
