YouTube Paying Talent to Use New Features
  • 6 years ago
YouTube Paying Talent to Use New Features YouTube is trying to lure influencers from
the competition. The video platform is paying talent upfront to promote and use new features. Deals are said to range from $10,000 to more than $100,000 in payment, according to Bloomberg. YouTube introduced paid chats, memberships and merchandising programs earlier this year. This was a move to keep stars away from the other platforms. Facebook, Instagram and Twitch have approached YouTube stars using their
new features. Multiple influencers on the video site have complained that it doesn’t offer ways to make money beyond advertising. The Google-owned company ultimately aims to make it easier for creators to sell merchandise.
