New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in five of the state’s 21 counties where additional rainfall could further complicate flood cleanup. Governor Murphy told reporters “Parts of our state have received nothing less than historic amounts of rain, and some communities received an entire month’s worth in just a few hours". The torrential rainfall has caused severe flooding in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
