AMALIA, NEW MEXICO — The search for a missing boy led police to a remote New Mexico property, where they found something even more horrifying.

CNN reports that 4-year-old Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj went missing in late November, and is believed to have been kidnapped by his father, Siraj Wahhaj.

On Friday, authorities raided a makeshift compound near Amalia, New Mexico with no running water or electricity, and rescued 11 emaciated children aged 1 to 15.

They found Siraj Wahhaj armed with an AR-15, revolver, four pistols, and ammunition, and arrested him and his accomplices, a man and three women.

Court documents allege that Wahhaj was giving the children weapons training, and preparing them to commit future school shootings.

The remains of a young boy were later found at the site, but authorities have yet to determine if the body is Wahhaj's missing son.

The five suspects were charged with 11 counts of felony child abuse, and have pleaded not guilty.
