Are we being overcharged for the food we have at major chans like KFC & Asubay? That's precisely what the national Anti Profiteering Authority is looking into. It has now cracked the whip on major quick service restaurants as restaurant chains such as Pizza Hut, KFC, and subway among others on the radar for not passing GST benefits. NAPA has questioned the practise of these restaurants not reducing prices of eatables despite GST cut. Baba Ramdev’s Pantanjali also under investigation for not passing GST rate cut benefits. NAPA has written a letter to Tax Authority to urge authorities to supervise the prices. NAPA letter comes on the back of recants rate cuts, from 28% to 18% on essential items. NAPA had earlier pulled up consumer product giant Nestle earlier for not passing the GST benefits.
