Waterspout forms off coast of France amid heavy thunderstorms
  • 6 years ago
A waterspout was spotted off the coast of the south of France as heavy thunderstorms caused flooding in much of the region.

Footage filmed on August 9 near Cassis, Provence, shows the phenomenon, which occurs when a tornado forms over the ocean or a body of water.

Heavy rain also caused extensive flooding in the Ardeche forest and the Bouche-du-Rhone department.
