Anti-abortion supporters carrying Argentine flags celebrated in front of the National Congress of Argentina in Buenos Aires after the Senate rejected a bill to legalize abortion in the country early on August 9.The bill passed Argentina’s Chamber of Deputies by a slim margin in June, according to reports, but ultimately was rejected in the Senate with 38 votes against and 31 votes for, despite a renewed effort from grassroots women’s rights activists to promote the cause.In this video, the confetti falls over a crowd cheering and chanting “sí a la vida,” or “yes to life,” as fireworks are let off nearby.
