The U.S. Embassy sponsored a viewing of Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" at Platinum Cineplex #TimorLeste on February 28 in commemoration of African American History Month in the United States. More than 130 students, teachers, alumni, and volunteers from the Access English Microscholarship Program, Camp EPIC and Camp EPICx, UmaAmerika at UNTL, and the Centre for the Study of Science and Mathematics (SESIM) attended. "The film's heroes are both women and men. It is a story of hope, leadership, respect and pride," noted Ambassador Fitzpatrick. The movie also highlights the value of STEM education.
