IS THIS INTERVIEWER A JOURNALIST?
If he is, he may need a refresher course in interviewing techniques. Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo is one of the easiest PF MPs a journalist can slice to pieces in an interview.
Yet the journalist in this video made a joke of himself.
Yelling at an interviewee does not make you a tough interviewer. It exposes your childishness & professionalism.
As a journalist, yours is to ask questions and let the interviewee answer. It's up to the viewer to make up his or her own conclusion, not you Mr. Journalist.
Unless you are presenting a commentary or writing an opinion, you can't feed your interviewee with speculations and expect to have a healthy discussion.
In mainstream media, journalists are held to a higher degree because this is the traditional form of practicing the trade in as much as platforms are evolving.
This performance calls for a serious review by the interviewer. This one was a poor and below par shift on the night. We hope this otherwise brilliant narrator will pause and reflect on his performance.
Instead of living up to the standards of the program title Oxygen of Democracy, the program was reduced to Carbon Dioxide of Journalist. Toxic.
