EMPOWERING THROUGH EDUCATION: FAWZIYAH MUQBIL - A TEACHER'S STORY

Almost 3,000 learners from the Satellite Learning Center (SLC) Ishkashim, Afghanistan have enrolled in high quality entry and intermediate level courses in applied English and Information Technology since the SLC began operations. The SLC Ishkashim was established by the University of Central Asia's (UCA) School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in cooperation with Teacher Training College of Ishkashim, Afghanistan in 2014.

It is supported by the Multi Input Area Development Global Development Alliance (MIAD GDA) - an alliance between the Aga Khan Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development. The aim of the alliance is to support long-term stability and growth in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan region through improved quality of life and socio-economic development of the residents. To date, SLC Ishkashim has enrolled more than 1,107 unique learners where 48% are females.
