Steven Seagal Is Now Russian Ministry's 'Special Representative' Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has named Seagal, 66, as a 'special representative' on U.S.-Russian humanitarian ties. Seagal's appointed role will be to promote U.S.-Russia relations "in the humanitarian sphere." He is also expected to collaborate "in the sphere of culture, public and youth exchanges." The role is unpaid, and is comparable to the United Nations' goodwill ambassador positions. Seagal has been open about his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
