LGBTQ+ activists detained in St. Petersburg

The moment an LGBTQ+ activist was detained by police in St. Petersburg after taking place in a picket outside one of the city's most famous tourist sites, the Winter Palace. In the clip, police approach activist Alexey Sergeev, seizing his sign and forcibly escorting him to a van by holding his arms and legs. Rainbow flags can be seen through the police van windows. Some 25 people were arrested at the unsanctioned rally on Saturday. Russia adopted legislation in 2013 banning the dissemination of "gay propaganda". The footage was recorded by local media 'Galetki'.
