The rapidly growing Mendocino Complex Fires in northern California had consumed more than 150,000 acres and prompted additional evacuations by August 3, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.The River Fire, near Hopland, topped 41,000 acres and was 50percent contained by August 3. Meanwhile, the Ranch Fire near Ukiah had scorched more than 112,000 acres and was reduced to 28 percent containment by the same day, according to Cal Fire reports.Some residents of Lake County and near the Mendacino National Forest boundary were evacuated on August 2, according to Cal Fire.Flames from the growing fires have destroyed 41 homes and 47 buildings while threatening around 9,200 structures.
