Up-and-coming director Cary Fukunaga grew up in California, but he has yet to work in Hollywood. Instead, his curiosity about foreign cultures has taken him to South America where he made his acclaimed first feature Sin Nombre and he follows that with British period drama Jane Eyre, starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender.
