Ivanka Trump Calls Family Separations At Border A ‘Low Point’
  • 6 years ago
Ivanka Trump recently called the family separations at the border a “low point.”

Ivanka Trump on Thursday commented on the family separations at the border. "That was a low point," she said at an Axios event. "I feel very strongly about that. I am very vehemently against family separation and the separation of parents and children…immigration is incredibly complex as a topic."  President Trump signed an executive order on June 20 that put an end to his administration's policy of separating children from families that illegally cross the border, notes CBS News.  While a court order demands that all families be reunited, the administration has encountered a number of problems and delays in doing so, reports the Washington Post.  Both the policy and the often-chaotic reunification process have inspired a number of protests.  According to CBS News, among them is a caravan of self-proclaimed grannies who are traveling in various large groups across the nation and plan to meet at the border for a demonstration outside of the largest immigration facility in the country.
