More than 400 flat-cap wearers broke a world record on Yorkshire day by gathering in Kirkgate market in Leeds.

The previous record for most people wearing the traditional headgear at one time stood at 250.

A total of 417 residents and stallkeepers donned their caps.

Footage filmed at the market on August 1 shows people milling about with hardly an uncovered head in sight.
