New York Mets Face Worst Defeat in Franchise History The Washington Nationals walked all over the team, winning 25-4. Steven Matz, one of the core four of pitchers, allowed eight hits and seven runs to get past him. Meanwhile, reliever Jacob Rhame gave up seven hits and six runs in two frames. 
The New York Mets had never lost a game by more than 19 runs in their entire history.
