Report: Trump Has Joked That Tom Brady Could Have Been His Son-In-Law

President Trump is reportedly said to have joked that his daughter Ivanka could have potentially married Tom Brady.

President Trump is said to have joked that his daughter Ivanka could have potentially married New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
A recent New York Times report about the first daughter and husband Jared Kushner's continuing presence in the White House despite intense criticism states, "Even their relationship with the president seemed to suffer. Several times Mr. Trump joked that he 'could have had Tom Brady' as a son-in-law. 'Instead,' the president said, according to five people who heard him, 'I got Jared Kushner.'"
The quote adds to speculation about Ivanka Trump and Brady which ramped up in September after former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci suggested that the football pro declined a White House visit last year because of jealousy from his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
Scaramucci said of Brady: "Maybe there was a relationship between him and Ivanka at some point. Maybe it was someone else. I don't know. I just think there was a possession that caused a rub."
Insiders later contradicted Scaramucci's comments, saying the pair had never dated.
This corroborates an account by the president's first wife Ivana in her book "Raising Trump," where she wrote, "At one point, Donald wanted her to date Tom Brady, the quarterback. He said, 'You have to meet him!' But Ivanka wasn't into it."
Ivanka went on to marry fellow real estate investor Kushner in 2009. They have three children together.
Despite a rocky start to their roles in the Trump administration, there are reports that they are planning to remain in D.C. and the White House, with Axios reporting, "They have outlived their enemies, and have a firmer grip on power than ever. No wonder friends say they are feeling emboldened, and aren't going anywhere."
