Recording breaking temperatures and hundreds of fatalities are being recorded as the world continues to experience a heatwave. The combination of the jet stream being further north than usual is causing high temperatures in the northern hemisphere, as well as continued human-made climate change by greenhouse gas emissions has increased the temperature of the entire planet wrecking havoc across the globe. Climate scientist Michael Byrne tells Newsweek, "This is the new normal."
