Days of heavy rain prompted road closures throughout Hershey, Pennsylvania, on July 25. Flooding on Spring Creek also caused the closure of Hersheypark amusement park.Derry Township, which encompasses Hershey, issued a disaster declaration on Thursday due to the severe flooding of Swatara Creek. Routes 39 and 743 remain closed and at least 13 residents were evacuated from their homes to a Red Cross shelter at Hershey High School, local newspaper Penn Live reported.Hersheypark announced the park would be closed on Thursday, the third time this week, because of the flooding on Spring Creek, which runs throughout the park.
