Waterspout Twists to Shore at Myrtle Beach, Whips Up Sand

After stirring up anticipation offshore, a waterspout swept onto Myrtle Beach on July 23, spraying sand, deck chairs and umbrellas as lifeguards called swimmers out of the water.This footage shows the waterspout on a long approach to the beach, and then twisting on to shore.When the waterspout made landfall, it officially became an EF-0 tornado, with winds under 65 miles per hour, the National Weather Service was quoted as saying in local reports.It dissipated after making it less than 100 yards inland.
