Dan Harmon Abandons Twitter After Old Pedophilia Sketch Resurfaces

According to a report by SFGate, Dan Harmon, the creator of "Rick and Morty" and "Community," left Twitter after an old sketch emerged in which he plays a therapist who sexually assaults babies. The 2009 sketch "Daryl," a parody of Showtime's series "Dexter," sparked outrage online, reportedly fueled by right-wing social media personality Mike Cernovich. SFGate reports that the video resurfaced as part of a coordinated online campaign against left-leaning celebrities on Twitter. Last week, James Gunn was fired from the next "Guardians of the Galaxy" film after old Twitter posts were flagged in which the filmmaker made jokes about rape and pedophilia.
