In the light of the passing of Balakong assemblyperson Eddie Ng in a car accident this morning, Selangor Menteri Besar Amiruddin Shari has called for all groups to show respect for the deceased.
He expressed his shock at the news and urged for the public to respect the family and friends of the deceased and allow them time and space to grieve.
Controversy erupted this morning when Seputeh Umno vice-chief posted a caustic tweet about the accident, saying that now there is "one less person who slanders".
