From Quito: Pedro Paez

Today we look at poverty in Ecuador, and the fact that it has risen, according to a recent report by the Statistics and Census Institute. The government of Lenin Moreno has taken strong austeriry measures in the country. Are these directly affecting the social programs to combat poverty? And after years of lowering poverty, what is this government doing wrong, now that it has been in power for the past year? To look at this we have Pedro Paez, Director of the Institute for Economic Research of the Catholic University, and professor at the Central University here in Quito.
