Canadian YouTuber's attempt to make Yorkshire puddings amuses Brits
  • 6 years ago
This YouTuber from Canada attempted to make Yorkshire puddings with his family – but unknowingly created an entirely different British dish.

David Freiheit, known as VivaFrei, was challenged to make the traditional batter pudding commonly eaten with roast dinners.

With the help of his two daughters, he buys the ingredients for so-called "York Shire" puddings and whips up the creamy beige batter.

Proudly stating he will give the treats a "VivaFrei twist", he chops up Merguez sausages and drops them in the batter before placing the trays in the oven.

The puddings are a hit with Quebec dad David and his daughters – but Brits were quick to point out a key error.

"You just discovered what we call 'Toad in the Hole'," one YouTube user jested.

Another joked: "Facepalm!

"I almost unsubscribed... Enjoy your Toad in the Hole!"

But the YouTuber received praise nonetheless for his culinary efforts.

The clip was filmed on July 19.
