IT raid update: Searches continue in highway contractor houses and offices for the second day. Raids underway at over 20 locations in Madurai, Arupukottai, Vellore and Chennai. So far Rs 160 crore in cash and 100kg gold seized. The searches are codenamed as ‘Operation Parking Money’ as the cash was kept in travel bags and in parked cars. I-T officials received a specific input pertaining to alleged tax evasion which triggered simultaneous raids.
