French Presidency Official Says A Weaker NATO Would Cost Allies More

According to a report by Reuters, an official in the Elysee Palace said on Wednesday that French President Emmanuel Macron believes that weakening the trans-Atlantic alliance would be more costly in the long run for its members. United States President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that the United States contributes an unfair amount to NATO, and called for allies to meet the 2% of annual GDP contribution agreed upon.
